안녕하세요~~

19년도 1월 셋째 주로 접어들고 있네요.

년초에 계획한 일들,

순조롭게 진행되고 있는지요?


저희와 함께 공부해 온 김보겸(대전 동산고, 2019졸업) 학생이 

어제 미국 네바다 주립대학교( University of Nevada, Las Vegas) "물리학과(Physics) 합격통지(i-20)"를 받게 되었습니다.


"정말 기쁜 일이고, 축하할 일 입니다. 짝짝짝~~~"


그간 열심히 노력해 온 보겸학생은

앞으로도 지금 만큼만 노력한다면 

"꽃 길"만을 걸을 수 있을 거라 여겨집니다.

Congratulations! You have been admitted to UNLV's 
Fall 2019
 semester!

Please see below for your next steps along with how to receive your UNLV I-20. 


Receiving your I-20
 
1. Log onto your MyUNLV account to accept your admission. The Office of Information Technology can be contacted for password issues at 1-702-895-0777.
  • Your acceptance letter should be mailed to you soon (can take a minimum of 12-14 business days to arrive if mailed outside of the US). A copy of the admissions letter should be available in your MyUNLV account the day after you have been admitted. To view/download a copy go to your MyUNLV student center (my.unlv.nevada.edu). Go to your communication center and look under 'Completed Communications'. 

2. Submit your financial certification form & valid bank letter:
  • Email the 2019-2020 Confidential Financial Certification Form (CFC) along with a current/valid bank letter showing proof of the required funds to internationaladmissions@unlv.edu. Bank letters can be dated no older than 6 months from the start of the semester. Since the Fall 2019 semester starts on 8/26/2019, bank letters can be dated no earlier than 2/26/2019.
  • The 2019-2020 Confidential Financial Certification Form is not available at this time. When it is, it will be available for download at https://www.unlv.edu/admissions/international.
  • We will begin processing I-20s after the 2019-2020 Confidential Financial Certification Form comes out. 
 
3. TRANSFER STUDENTS already in the US:
  • You must notify your current school of your intent to transfer to UNLV by providing a copy of your UNLV acceptance letter to your current international student advisor. This step MUST be completed in order to receive your UNLV I-20, and MUST be done PRIOR to classes beginning. Your visa status can be terminated if this is not taken care of in a timely manner prior to the start of classes.
  • UNLV's SEVIS school code is: PHO214F10643000
  • If you do NOT travel outside the U.S. before you attend UNLV, you can get your UNLV I-20 when you arrive at UNLV.
  • If you plan to travel outside the U.S. before attending UNLV, you must notify international admissions by email (internationaladmissions@unlv.edu) or by phone (1-702-774-8658) to request to have your I-20 mailed. For our express mailing option please see the attached instructions below.
 
4. STUDENTS COMING INTO THE US FOR THE FIRST TIME:
  • Purchase the optional express mail using the instructions attached below. 
  • Once you receive your acceptance letter/I-20 pay the SEVIS fee and prepare to apply for your F-1 visa.

Arriving to UNLV and Reporting to the Office of International Students and Scholars

You are allowed to enter the country 30 days before your official program start date shown on your I-20. For the International Student Check-In Process you must report to OISS on or before your program start date. Failure to do so in a timely manner may result as a NO SHOW and being terminated in SEVIS.
  • Instructions for International Student Check-In & MANDATORY International Student Orientation will be sent to your Rebel Mail address after receiving admission to UNLV. Please go to rebelmail.unlv.edu to set up your account. For questions regarding check-in or  MANDATORY orientation please contact OISS at oiss@unlv.edu or 702-774-6477
  • If you will be entering the US late by a few days, immediately contact international admissions so that we can accurately reflect this information in your SEVIS record.
  • If you decide not to attend UNLV after you have been issued a UNLV I-20 and want to defer your admission to a later semester please email internationaladmissions@unlv.edu. If you decide to attend another institution in the US instead please email oiss@unlv.edu to have your SEVIS record transferred. 
 
Registering for classes and applying for on campus housing

  • Schedule an academic advising appointment to meet with an academic advisor for assistance in selecting your classes: (unlv.edu/advising/centers). Register for classes on the MyUNLV website AFTER new student advising meeting
  • Secure on campus housing at: http://unlv-housing.com/ If you are a UNLV freshman coming from a high school outside of Las Vegas, Henderson, North Las Vegas, Boulder City, or Pahrump, and you are taking six or more credits, the University requires that you live on campus in a UNLV housing facility during your first year. Visit the Housing and Residential Life website for more information on applying for UNLV housing options. UNLV Housing and Residential Life has a separate application. Make sure to fill out the application early to secure your spot. For any exceptions regarding living on campus, please contact UNLV Housing and Residential Life.
  • Submit your immunization records: https://www.unlv.edu/admissions/immunizations
  • Pay for your tuition and fees online on your MyUNLV account.
  • Purchase your textbooks at the UNLV Bookstore: unlv.bncollege.com
  • Purchase your parking permit online at: parking.unlv.edu
  • Get your Rebelcard: rebelcard.unlv.edu
 
*Disclaimer: Please be aware that if you do not follow the appropriate steps for UNLV Admission, we cannot guarantee that you will receive your I-20 in time.
